Married, working mom of 2 healthy kids who actively wears stretch. Que Fancy!

February

Seriously?! I haven't written since OCTOBER?! Welp, pardon me for not recapping every holiday that we've had since then. Trust me, they were great. It seems so long ago now. Kid update: They are losing teeth like no ones business. It's like the minute the first one comes out, they all come out. Landon totally busted me about the "tooth fairy" deal. The last tooth that he lost he immediately turns to me and says, "Hey mom, can I get $10 for my teeth now? I want to go to Game Stop." -- We had this long discussion about why I refuse to go inside that store, 1. they don't have a game console. Landon was quick to correct that because he does in fact have a Nintendo 3DS. and 2. I will not be participating in game buying, if they want it, they have to earn the money for it. And that's when that whole $10 per tooth came into play. I asked him why I had to give him the money and he said very matter of factly, that I am in fact the tooth fairy, he already knows because Ava found his very 1st tooth that he lost in a drawer of mine. Now don't think that I have my kids teeth randomly hidden around the house. I only have the 1st ones that they've lost ;) And I may or may not have misplaced it/them. So the jigs up, they know its me. They also know the Easter Bunny is a joke. Santa though... they're still on that one. Landon does ask random questions every now and again but I totally blew his mind when I told him that the North Pole really exists and that my cousin has been there. He even youtubed it, which is his new thing. Toy reviews, game reviews, and The Shaytards. Ava is more of a makeup tutorial kid. How to do Monster High makeup, Disney princess makeup, and Monster High doll reviews. Weirdos. As for school... Ava is doing well. She came home last week upset and crying because the substitute that they had that day was "bossy and mean" and Ava was blamed for disrupting the class, which she is VERY adament that it was not her! I told her no biggie and that I wasn't mad, so off to Starbucks we went for a cookie and chocolate milk. That same day Landon came home upset because his teachers dad had passed and she was very emotional therefore the class became emotional and so he was just exhausted with emotion... it definitely called for chocolate milk and a cookie. He has also been having "motivation" issues. LAZY with a capital L!!!! However, I was able to finally remedy this! By a checklist! If you know me, you know that I'm a list maker, a calendar maker. I HAVE to have things written down so I can see them and then check them off and it therefore brings me happiness, haha. Sooooo I made him and Ava a checklist! It's just a white board with their names on it and various tasks to be done and checked off (ex. Math Pages, english pages, reading log). After those are done, I usually change it to showers, pjs, and teeth brushing. They're weird like me and LOVE to have something to check off.

They also started new years in primary! Can't believe this kid is going to be 8 this year! Can you tell he's a tad excited?

The other day Ava asked me to put rollers in her hair so that she could be "fancy" for school. That's her new word to describe everything by the way. Then later on that day, I found this precious selfie that she took ;)

And lastly, the kids recently saw the movie "The Boxtrolls". Omar had some spare boxes in the garage so I decided to make them into boxtrolls, this is how we spent our saturday.
The neighbors probably did a couple double takes as to why my kids were running around the neighborhood in giant boxes, but they had a good time. p.s. Eggs and Fish are the names of a couple characters from the movie ;)

As for Omar and I, he is helping coach Landon's baseball team this season. And I am trying to be a better meal planner so that we aren't tempted to go fast food after every practice and game. We're lucky that the field they use is literally a mile from the house, so I can go to practice with them, come home and cook dinner really quick and then head back to practice if I feel inclined to do so. But it is so easier said then done. Valentines Day is saturday and you know how I like to go all out, balloons, gifts, special dinner, etc. I am also doing to research on what to grow this spring and summer. Our garden is pathetic right now, I blame winter. I really want to add some color to the backyard with some planters and flowers. Omar wants to plant zucchini and mint again. Looking forward to the warmer nighs to entertain!
