I love California

Its true.. I love California. The thought of ever leaving scares me to death. When Omar got the opportunity to work for Cargill he also got the added benefit of moving to other facilities nation wide. Cool right? Well I always thought, "ya thats neat and all... we'll never leave but at least we know its there." Wrong. In the past 2 weeks he got a job offer in Minnesota and Texas. We are kinda kicking ourselves in the butt about not accepting the Minnesota offer as it had a significant pay raise and cost of living over there is cheaper AND we would have been like 10 minutes away from the Mall of America. The Texas offer went right out the window. But like I was saying, moving out of state?! Crazy talk. Who knows what the next offer will be. As it is now, he's getting a promotion and will have to go to Minneapolis to train for 2 weeks. I already fear being with the kids for 2 weeks straight without him here. But what is meant to be is meant to be.

Speaking of the kids, Landon has become computer savvy. He was able to get online, type in "d" and "i" in the address bar so that "disney games" popped up as a recent web page and navigated himself to the actual games. He's also been doing a lot of puzzles by himself and painting has become a new favorite of his. Ava has all of a sudden had a thing for oatmeal, coloring on her arms and singing to the "Tangled" soundtrack. :)

This passed weekend Omar and I were able to get away for a bit and drive up to Bakersfield with my Grampa and Mom for my cousin's wedding reception. When we got there and it was time to party, the weather decided to get really ugly and borderline scary. Thunder and lightening all around us and fires in the mountains that surround the city. When we got home that night our clothes smelled like bonfire. Congratulations to Bobby and Kelsie! ;)

Most of the familia.

  1. are you kidding?! We would leave CA in a heartbeat if the chance arose. This place is all kinds of crazy, and only getting more expensive.
