Bakersfield 2010

August.

So far its an okay month. I never realized how many birthdays there were in August.. or baby showers for that matter. Believe or not I made the trip to Bakersfield and back in ONE day. Thats 6 hours of driving for all of you that aren't familiar with it. As a kid going to Bakersfield at least once a year was a norm. Either Christmas or Thanksgiving was usually spent up there with my aunts and uncles and all the cousins. Now with most of the cousins having families of their own or being in college or working, we hardly get to see everyone in one place anymore. So I was glad to be up there to see family. Plus, Kelsie (she's 2 years older then me) was having her baby shower up there for her 1st baby and I wanted to see the infamous belly that she was hiding from all her facebook pictures. So I got up WAYY early, left my sleeping babies with Omar and got into the car with my grampa who almost killed me twice. :) All for you Kelsie. When we got there and I saw her I all of a sudden felt very small.... (she's always been tall and thin, you have been Kelsie. And I've always been short and well, not thin. ;) And here she was, tall and thin. Still. At 7 months pregnant. Not fair. Anyway, as I'm standing next to her in the kitchen I realize that with her standing in front of me, her belly is all up in my face. I should have worn heels. Thanks for giving me a complex baby Porter. Your not even here yet and your already looking down on me ;)
I made this. No one at the shower got it. FAIL.
Next time I visit with them we are watching Anchorman.
