Married, working mom of 2 healthy kids who actively wears stretch. Que Fancy!

In a nutshell

Now that we've had a chance to catch our breath... it's 2012!! But lets rewind first. :)

Christmas morning I was surprised to wake up on my own. There were no kids running and jumping onto my bed begging to open their gifts, there was no sound of feet running up the down the hallway to check if Santa came. It was just me! So I completely took advantage of that, made some acai berry tea (so good!) and sat on the couch for a while. That lasted for about 10 minutes then I just got plain antsy. I decided to wake up Omar with a hot steaming cup of hot cocoa complete with mini marshmellows. He too was surprised to know that the kids weren't awake yet. So we basked in it for a while. About a half hour later we woke the little ones up and to our surprise, they didn't want to wake up!! Lazy sack of potatoes. But as soon as we said, "Did Santa come last night?" Ava sat straight up in bed, looked out the window and said, "he did.. I saw him and his reindeer the WHOLE night." Thats when they made a race to the Christmas tree and saw that "Santa" did indeed pay them a visit. Their faces were priceless.

Landon and his cheeseballs that he asked for :)

Landon and his 1st train set.

Ava with her beloved Rapunzel

complete with the dress

Me and my rad new apron... the pearls make it classy and YES it did come with them ;)

I got our NEW family picture framed to go up on the wall and my cousin made that awesome sign above it. I'm in love with it.

Our new bed!!!
Notice the wall above it, I FINALLY got that cliche "Always kiss me goonight" vinyl I'd been wanting (on sale at Target for $6.99, reg $16.99) and got it up on the wall with the help of my friend and what happens?! It totally fell off. Both kids totally deny ripping it off the wall, so maybe it just "fell" off. Who knows... guess I'll have to make some DIY art. ;) Pinterest here I come.

Happy New Year!

This heap of a mess is their room.... while I'm blogging this, they are SUPPOSED to be cleaning it. I doubt that its happening though.

After everything, the holidays turned out pretty stress free. I cooked my first Thanksgiving AND Christmas dinner all by myself and it was awesome. This year I: hosted dinner (which I never do because I'm an awful host), I can now make a bed properly with 11 pillows, learned that I CAN cook a ham and turkey breast (maybe next year I'll take on the whole turkey), moved, bought a lemon, learned my lesson, embraced being the domestic goddess that I have become, got to have ALL my sisters in 1 room, became an aunty AGAIN :), donated to charity, recycled, lost weight, killed 3 plants, celebrated 5 years with my hunk, and kissed my babies everyday. It was a pretty good year, but 2012 WILL be better.
