Married, working mom of 2 healthy kids who actively wears stretch. Que Fancy!

Valentines Day

Was on a Tuesday this year. Making it almost impossible to sneek away and get Omar something. UNTIL his sister Sylvia asked if I could take her to Sam's Club, which in turn gave me the perfect opportunity to stop at Target on the way home. Boy, was that a mistake. The parking lot was ridiculous and the Valentines day section? A frenzy of procrastinators like myself hoping to score a box of candy and a card. I found it funny that all the cards Target had were "To my beautiful wife..." no husband cards. But I was able to grab a box of chocolate for him and a couple for the kids. I also grabbed a package of heart shaped balloons.

When Jake and I were kids our mom used to fill our entire rooms up with red and pink balloons. Floor to ceiling every Valentines day. I thought I'd try to keep up that tradition by taking baby steps and starting with a dozen balloons ;)

Omar came home from work that day with goodies too. Turns out he got out of work early to pick up some things for us :) Flowers and perfume. I haven't had actual perfume from a GLASS bottle in years! All of my body sprays are in plastic haha. It made me feel like a grown up! I would have take a picture of the flowers (they're gorgeous) BUT my mischeivious 3 yr old thought it would be fun to take them out of the vase they were in and now I can't quite get it to look like it did. :P I'm not a flower arranger, thats my mom's talent.

In other news! We are planning a couple vacations next month (let the countdown begin, right?) Our annual Disney trip with the kids and then a trip to Las Vegas for mommy and daddy! Omar's cousin is actually getting married there so naturally we booked a room and made a full itinerary of things to see ;) Neither of us have ever been, just driven through during the day. I'm glad because lately Omar's schedule has been really sucky so it will be nice to get to spend some time together. We are also going to his sister's annual Valentine's Day dinner bash this saturday. She is the ultimate party planning person and always goes all out. Yay for couples time!!
