Married, working mom of 2 healthy kids who actively wears stretch. Que Fancy!

His 1st Day

Ever since learning that we had less then 2 weeks before Landon started kindergarten we decided to try and squeeze in as much summer fun as we could. And what better way then to start it off right then at the beach? So we packed up, called my brother so we could meet up and off we were! We headed down to Bolsa Chica beach in Huntington and got there right before the crowds. The sun was out and the water wasn't too cold so the kids LOVED it. Landon and Colton built a sand mound castle and I couldn't get Ava out of the water! She loved it and even found some sea shells to take home. When we got home we realized how burnt we were. We, as in Omar and I. Omar's arms were so bad that they almost looked purple and my shoulders were on fire. That's what happens when you only apply SPF30 ONCE in a 3 hour period. I should know better! Shame shame. Anyway, aside from the first degree burns we had a great time! Thanks Greg, Steph and Colton!

We also got to have a small 4th of July celebration. Of course it was last minute but it all came together smoothly. Surrounded by family, great food, and weird music haha. In our neighborhood fireworks are illegal because we are too close to the mountains so we headed to Rialto were they are perfectly legal :) The safe and sane ones anyway. But apparently people in Omar's old neighborhood don't care and were lighting mortars (the ones that go up in the air and explode.. ya illegal) which made for a pretty fun fourth.

We also got to finally meet Mr. Jayden, our great nephew :)The kids couldn't wait to hold him and smell him.

He fulfilled my baby hunger needs for the moment. :)

We also had kinder orientation which we had to make clear to Landon that it was a boring meeting for parents and NOT a play day. Sure enough, he made a friend quickly and him and the "friend" began whispering back and forth while Mrs. Ramsey (his awesome teacher) talked to us about homework, sight words, and that the kinder program there is actually the accelerated program so they'll be going faster than others at different schools and doing less crafts and more academic study. I was sad to hear this as I've been waiting for my first macaroni necklace ;P

And then there's today!

Leaving him there happened a lot faster then I wanted it to. We drove up, parked and got him out of the car to start heading to his classroom when I realized we forgot Ava in the car. Good one mom. I felt so bad. Then we made our way to the class, took a quick picture and then off he went inside with the teacher. I said "Bye Landon! See you later!" and he looked at me like, "Oh, you're really leaving me here? Ok." and waved. That was it. He turned his back and got his name tag from the teacher and they closed the door. WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Not really, I didn't cry. I just walked away WITH Ava this time who was tearing up saying, "I miss Landon." Me too Ava, me too. Then we came home and thought, well now what? lol. It's been pretty uneventful. Went and got my FREE birthday drink from starbucks and then went and got gas. Now we are just waiting to go get him to hear ALL about his day. :)
