September

Landon has been a free bird since Sept. 1st and doesn't go back to school until Oct. 1st. It's been an adjustment having him back with us ALL DAY LONG! Trying to entertain him and keep him and Ava from tattling on each other every chance they get is a full time job. Makes the day go by VERY slowly. Combined with the heat and recent swampy gross weather we have been having, doesn't make for a happy momma.

My feelings exactly.


In more pleasant news.... My mom and aunts all put together a surprise 80th birthday party for my Grandpa. I was in charge of decor and punch. They probably weren't aware that I've never made punch for 50 people before when they assigned me that duty. I showed up with a giant thing of lemonade, 3 liters of Sprite, and a bag full of lemons. Then my Aunt Lisa hands me a 5 gallon drink dispenser and I'm thinking, "cool, my recipe serves 8 people. I need a calculator, a pencil and some paper." lol. So I pretty much ditched the recipe and went by taste. The first time I tried it, it tasted like Airborn. YUMM! So I added a whole lot more of everything and finally got it to taste drinkable. And what would you know, they ran out of punch at the party :) SUCCESS!

My grandpa was so surprised and overwhelmed that he did shed a few tears. :)

It was also my dad's birthday (the SAME day) so we were party hoppers for the day. We met my dad at Taco Joe's and then went back to his house for swimming and more cake :)

Fall is ALMOST here... officially it's Sept 22nd but I figure if the stores can put up their decorations, then so can I. Bam! The kids have already changed their minds about their Halloween costumes a handful of times. Landon has gone through Batman, the Green Lantern, and Hook and Ava has mentioned being a slew of Disney princesses. We'll see who wins.
