Bathroom Re-do & Babies

We are back! After a couple rough weeks of passing around germs and sickness here, we finally had a healthy weekend! So we put on our painting gear and went to work on the guest bathroom. That thing was disgusting! There were no towel racks, no toilet paper holder, ripped wall paper on the bottom parts of the wall (I don't know what was the deal there..) and a super ugly light fixture that had bulbs on it so close to the wall that it was burning the paint on the wall and causing it to peel and bubble. Just take my word for it, it was gross. Dated, stripped, and just plain 'ol awful. Unfortunately I don't have any real before pictures to show you just how bad, it's too embarrassing. But here is one of the old light fixture

I can now have company over and not be totally embarrassed about our bathroom. heart. We also made a few discoveries while updating the bathroom, one being that our builders grade mirror isn't attatched to the wall AT ALL! It's just sitting behind the counter top lip and leaned on the wall. I learned this while I taped it off and the whole thing came at me. I nearly jumped off the counter for fear of my life. Our next project is gluing it back to the wall and adding crown molding to frame it and adding a valance for the window. All in time though. Omar needs a break ;)

I also got to go to my little cousin's baby shower... SO crazy! Made me feel old. However, the decorations at this party were the cutest! And the games! I totally won one! And I NEVER win games at baby showers. It was nice to see family and friends again. This is a close up of the candy bar and Kurtis Jr's ultrasound picture.
