Married, working mom of 2 healthy kids who actively wears stretch. Que Fancy!

I see Orange

Blogger is being LAME and is unable to "upload my photos at this moment". Liars. So this has turned into a no picture post. Not my fault. Anyway, so October has treated me nicely thus far, the weather is amazing and is a mixture of clouds, rain, and fog. LOVE it. Hasn't gotten warmer then 75 for about a week now and so my inner pastry chef has come out. The other day I was on my fave recipe site while the kids were coloring and I came across a recipe for "Donut Muffins" aka Heaven. I glanced at the ingredients and realized that I had them all (surprise!) and so I got to work. I tweaked the recipe a tad, simply because dipping things into melted butter and then eating it kinda grosses me out. They were awesome... and addicting. Kind of dangerous, lol. that's the website for it. Like I said, I tweaked it, instead of dipping them individually in the butter and then rolling them, I melted the butter and then just mixed in the sugar and cinnamon that made a heavenly little sauce and poured it all over the muffins. Then I let it sit for about 15 min and then took a picture and taunted Omar at work with it :) I have also been wanting to bake some pumpkin bread, zucchini bread.. and maybe another pear crisp since pears are in season and therefore cheap. In addition to my sudden urge to be in the kitchen making things, I've also gotten struck with the creative arrow. Which is weird, because I don't see myself as someone who is good at making things. I usually have the ideas for things, but lack the necessary tools to execute it. However this time I am determined to get my hands on some fabric, a couple Chinese lanterns and a hot glue gun, to make this:
Crazy I know, I don't already own a hot glue gun. I don't even have a sewing machine. But I have all the thread, pins and needles you'd need to make a quilt. I won't dare attempt one by hand, I'm waiting on the sewing machine that my mom is promising me... and has promised me since last Christmas ;) Until then I will continue to hem Landon's pants by hand, because like me, we lack height in our legs lol. In other news, Ava has taken a liking to a Victoria's Secret bag that I brought home and thinks its a "surprise!" Her words, not mine. We finally got their costumes together, Landon WAS going to be Iron Man like every other little boy but they ran out of his size at both Target and Party City and since I was not in the mood to go hunting for it, I let him pick his second choice. And of all things, he decides he wants to be the Green Power Ranger. The mask is already torn in one place and he has begged to wear it since we brought it home last Friday. I got smart and finally hid it so he has since forgotten about it. Ava is Snow White, there's not questioning her decision there. She got the dress for her birthday in August and so we were pretty much set on what she was going to be, until I tried it on her the other day and it was a struggle to get past her shoulder. Uh oh. No worries though, we got it on her and unless she has a growth spurt in between now and next Sunday she should be fine. Fingers crossed though. Omar has been working TONS of overtime lately. Leaving her around 7am and not coming home til 630-7pm. Makes for a LONG day! Hopefully soon we can squeeze in a date night. With the holidays coming up its going to get a tad busy. Upcoming we have; Halloween, Omar's bro's bday, Jakes bday, Thanksgiving, Black friday (that I am SOO participating in this year), my nephews 2nd bday, my older bro's bday, our anniversary, Omar's company Christmas party, and finally Christmas. Whew... I'm tired already. Happy Halloween!
