A New Year

Its already 2 weeks into 2011 and I have yet to be well.. I've been sick since New Years, which can't be a good sign for the year to come right? Oh well, I'll try to be optimistic about it. As for resolutions, mine is to not make one. :) This way I don't bruise my self esteem because lets face it, we ALL know what 85% of women are trying to do this year. I dare not say the word. Ok maybe I will... DIET! What is that? I'm just going to try harder to make healthy decisions. Like for instance, eating a quarter of an apple pie. Probably not the healthiest thing. Some may argue that it's healthy because, yes while there is fruit in it, there is also about 2 sticks of butter and a cup of sugar. Yum. I'll just eat an apple and pretend. MOVING ON. So Christmas came and went, yep just like that. The kids were completely spoiled by our families and came home with tricylces, doll houses, tons of battery operated things that I didn't have batteries for and a giant stuffed animal (thanks dad :P). We got to spend time with majority of the family, on both sides! Christmas morning the kids woke up around 8 (gasp!!) and opened gifts, then we drove over to Omar's sisters for a Christmas dinner and more presents. TONS of presents. Her living room was filled, by the time all the neices and nephews were done you couldn't see the carpet thanks to the mountains of wrapping paper that were formed. After cleaning up, we loaded up and went to my mom's for a quick visit and then over to my dads for dinner.. and more presents. It took 6 trips to get all the kids gifts upstairs and in their room.

Ava on New Years with her cider...

For New Years, we went to the in laws for some food and about 9 different varieties of cider. All the kids made it to midnight but were soon fast asleep on the drive home. <3 I have to say that we are definitely excited about this year. Hopefully we'll be able and blessed enough to get a new car. We are also looking to move closer to Omar's work this year, which means constant researching schools and neighborhoods. We're crossing our fingers and praying everything works out.
