October Update

This just happened:

{Hearing sounds coming from my living room while I'm in my room}
Me: Ava... what are you doing over there?
Ava: I love you!!

Guilty.

This is a picture of Landon's sight words that he had last week... I didn't notice the subliminal insult in them until my friend pointed it out and we laughed at how ghetto it sounded. ;)

We've also had a LOT going on in our little family lately. Nothing that I'm willing to share just yet. But I will say, we ALL needed a break and to have some family fun together which included pumpkin picking and carving. Prior to Omar and I getting married, he had never carved a pumpkin before and has become quite competitive now. He likes to pick out something difficult to carve and I usually come up with a great idea and scrap it half way through because I give up. However, this year I had the courage to tackle a Tinkerbell pattern that Omar chose not to do. He also bet me a Starbucks drink that I couldn't do it. BOOM! He owes me ;)

Pretty good...

My swirly whirly thing.

We also had our FIRST Parent Teacher Conference last week and were pleasantly informed that Landon is a natural reader. His teacher also gave us a little assignment to do with him. Having him practice his hand writing (lets face it, boys have ugly hand writing). So the other night I had him sit down and write out his Christmas list. I figured it would be good practice that he wouldn't whine about. We were also told to let him sound out his words and spell them the way he hears them. That part drove me crazy as I am a spelling nerd and wanted to correct it :P But this is how that turned out.
