Home Improvement

We've been in the house now for a week and my garage still has about 20 boxes unopened and unsorted through. Finding a place for everything is harder then I thought, especially with the kids being in their own rooms. Who gets what? So far Landon has a dresser, Ava doesn't. Ava has a book case, Landon doesn't. Landon has a little table with chairs and Ava keeps one of the chairs in her room. They are on box #1 out of 4 of toys to sort through... which is more annoying then I had hoped.

Omar and I have done a couple updates to the house already. One included a new ceiling fan in our room since the old one wouldn't shut off and the lights were broken. We're talkin real ghetto here folks. So we bought a new one that matched the metal on our bed and had Fern install it for us. Electrical work scares me. Here's the new fan.
Its real nifty and even has a remote ;)

I have kept my Christmas decorations out and done a little decorating here and there between unpacking everything. My mantle is all cutesy and wreathed out. A wreath is on the door and I have a pine scented candle burning. As for an actual tree, we're hoping to accomplish that this weekend.

The other update that we did was the shower heads. Those were also super old school and gross and dripped water out. So we saw a killer deal at home depot for a handheld one and well... we didn't read the WHOLE package and missed the LED light up temperature gauge on it. So my shower head is really interesting..
Hot

Cold.

I know, super weird. Once I get this place cleaned up and all of the boxes and newspaper out of here I'll be sure to post actual pictures ;) Maybe even send out a Christmas card or two. Landon has been adjusting to his new school, he's a Moreno Mustang now. It's amazing to me how different the curriculum really is here. The accelerated kinder program at Kendall was basically all business and no fun. Here, it's the opposite. Landon's brought home more crafts this week then he did in a month there. He seems to be enjoying it too and has learned a couple Christmas songs and made some friends too. On Wednesday, they are having a holiday program and then next friday are having a christmas party! I have to say, I don't mind all the fun that he's getting to have here. He is still being challenged at home and reads everyday. He is already requesting that I read him my old Goosebumps series. My mom totally kept them all, haha. Ava has enjoyed having my full attention again. She likes to play in her room by herself and pretend she's Taylor Swift. She's 4 remember? She gets a kick out of vacuuming her own room too. Love it.

I have to say, it has taken some getting used to living so far from family. And we're only 30 miles away! In the mean time, we'll be settling in and enjoying our new home :)

Merry Christmas!
