We hosted Easter this year too! I'm a terrible host usually and just assume that people know where things are :P We had Omar's sister and her husband and then Omar's brother and his family over along with the in laws and my mom. And everyone fit! The weather cooperated and it didn't rain so the kids were able to have their egg hunt in the FRONT yard.. we've turned into "those" people. No one on the back yard grass... yet! We had WAYYYY too much food as usual and everyone full and with a ton of left overs.
In preparation for Easter we got the backyard ready to entertain and I FINALLY bought the lights I've been wanting ever since we lived in Redlands. :)
Last night we put up lanterns along the fence and now I never want to leave my backyard!
Last week, Omar was able to get away from work for a day and we took the kids to L.A. to see the Museum of Natural History and the California Science Center where they house the Endeavor Space Shuttle. It was soo amazing to see in person!
This was the short walk to the California Science Center...
Of course, being in L.A., we stopped at Pink's Hot dogs and ordered this heart attack on a tray... SO GOOD!
Highlights of the Museum of Natural History: Dinosaur bones. It helps if your kid is obsessed like mine is currently. Other than that, they could care less about the ancient artifacts and the stuffed animals made to look real. Landon: Mom, this is dumb. Those are fake. Lunch was a whopping $34 so pack a lunch!
Highlights from the California Science Center: It's FREE!! Yes, you heard right. Free! And, there is wayyyy more hands on stuff for the kids to do. Stuff they can actually touch. To see the Endeavor you have to buy tickets ($2 each) and then you're golden. Omar and I were more interested there because we like space stuff (nerd alert) but Landon was still on his dinosaur bones. Even with his souvenir space shuttle. The drive home was a nightmare, so we (Omar and I) decided to take a break and stop in at Ikea on the way home. By the end of walking around there we were dead tired but glad we stopped because voila! No more traffic. Ava said it was "the best day ever!" But she'll say that over a trip to Fresh and Easy for a chocolate milk. ;) Easy to please that one.
