Married, working mom of 2 healthy kids who actively wears stretch. Que Fancy!

Busy May

It's May!! And I already can't wait til it's over! :)
May is just SUPER busy. Lots of birthdays (darn you Taurus's), Anniversaries, it's wedding season, and not to mention.. MOTHERS DAY! New favorite holiday, just sayin. It's nice to be appreciated on another level and have your kids get excited to "buy" mom something. Everyday this past week Landon has been coming home and saying, "For mothers day I'm gonna buy you a necklace!" and then have this demented snickery laugh like he's hatching an evil plot to take over the world or something. He thinks he's so sneaky. Ava hasn't caught on to the whole mother's day thing. She has no idea nor does she care. All she wants to know is how many days til HER birthday.

Last weekend Omar and I got to get away for the day and go to a Dodger game! It had been almost 6 years since our last one and so we were due. We had the BEST seats ever (Matt Kemp was only a few feet away doing his before game stretches as was Andre Ethier), the stadium was packed, AND we got Dodger duffel bags for FREE! And small world, BOTH of my sister in laws were there with their husbands! So naturally we met up after to get food at some dinky taco place in Anaheim/Fullerton that was da bomb. Free Refills on Horchata! No one does that!

This kid needs a haircut.

While helping him with homework today, he asked me to hand him a red crayon because he wanted to color his drawing that he made and wanted to have a red shirt. So I grab the first red looking crayon I see, it was a Rose Art crayon amongst his crayola brand crayons and it said "red". Can't blame me. I had it to him, he colors for like a second and then gives me this look as if to say, "really mom?!" and then says to me, "great! Now my shirt is pink! I asked for RED mom!" I couldn't laugh about how offended he was that I dare hand him a Rose Art crayon. I will never forget that look.
In other news, he has another field trip coming up. This time to the fire station! I wish I could go but they won't let Ava tag along to these things. Speaking of Ava, she has a kinder orientation in a couple weeks. She'll get to meet her teacher and see her classroom. Thinking about it makes me all emotional... I just need to get through May though, right?
