We also got to make a special trip out to Costa Mesa to visit my brother and sister and their families for presents and cookie decorating. So much fun to see everyone and see how big all the kids have gotten!
Christmas Eve we went to my moms where the kids got spoiled as did Omar and I. Thanks mom! Christmas Day we had our morning with the kids and enjoyed the tv yule log along with our fireplace because why not. Its amazing to me that it takes hours to wrap everything and get it all just right and in a matter of minutes Christmas is done ;) After we made the kids clean up the living room, we went to Omar's parents and did a fun white elephant gift exchange and had brunch (we tried so hard to be good, but honestly who is going to pass up a tamale?!). After, we made our way to my dads for a prime rib dinner and more presents! I'm tellin ya, we're pretty loved. We were stuffed and so was the car.
For New Years we had some family over and banged pans at midnight. The kids made it all the way til midnight thanks to Gramma who kept them hopped up on cider ;) A couple days after we got to go to Disneyland thanks to my mom (xmas gift). I hadn't been to Disneyland with my mom in YEARS! It was so fun to show her all the new things and see all the winter decorations again. Jake went also and although he won't admit it, he had fun with the kids. Even took Landon on Indiana Jones for the first time.
I thought I was going to get out of Christmas break without getting sick UNTIL last tuesday... then I went downhill quick. Everything from fevers, to uncontrollable cough, congestion, you name it. And as I tried fighting it with all the vitamin C I could get, it all backfired when on Saturday morning I woke up with a giant cold sore. I was a total hot mess. I missed church and wasn't able to teach my wonderful sunbeams like I had planned... (ya, sunbeams!). I'm finally up and able to get things done because let me tell you, when the mom is sick the house falls apart pretty quick. And now that the dust has settled and everything is put away and all seems calm... we decide, lets add more to this chaos! We signed up Landon for baseball last weekend and needless to say, Omar is constantly thinking up things that he'll need. So much equipment, all the gear, and now we're just waiting from the coach to tell us what team and when and where. That phone call won't come though for another 2 weeks. In the mean time, Landon asks me every other day if he's called and if there is practice yet. I think maybe we'll hit up the batting cages some time soon just so he can get out there. In other news! Our good friend David got married!!! Here's a couple pictures from their Cali reception :) It was like a mini reunion for Omar. Apparently these 3 got into some interesting situations back in high school, haha!
Congrats again Lexi & David!
