If you know me, then you know that I LOVE to go big on Valentines Day. Balloons, hearts everywhere, streamers, gifts, everything. Any chance I get to decorate and make my house festive, I welcome with open arms. And today was no different. As usual, I couldn't start decorating til after the kids went to bed last night and then I started gettin lazy but finally picked myself up around 11pm and got to work. I was exhausted from earlier that day, getting up at 630, volunteering in Ava's class to help out with the Valentines party there and then totally forgetting to make Landon his lunch. Luckily I had $5 in my wallet and so he was good. I also forgot Ava's homework packet that was due. It was seriously just one of those days. The class party was fun. Hectic, but fun. I was the only parent to show up to help and so it was the teacher, me and 29 kindergarteners who wanted to hand out valentines (some of which weren't even signed or taken out of the box at all. PARENTS! That is YOUR job!) We had like zero time to sit down with them and have them sign every single one and then fold them and slap a sticker on them. Like I said, hectic. By the time I got out of there I was sweaty, dehydrated and starving. Here is Ava and her friend Jazel after the festivities :)

Then it was time to get Landon and boom just like that I get no nap. He had his first baseball practice last night and although he had fun, he was so tired when we finally got home. I loved it because there were NO arguments when it came to bedtime. He was more than happy to get into his bed and crash out. Ava too, she was exhausted from being pulled around all day ;)

Anyway, so 11pm... there I was with my tape and construction paper and balloons. Then I got the bright idea to finish building the new dining room table that Omar and I got (mutual v day gift to eachother). I love it so much. We grew out of our old one, it was perfect for apartment living, but in a house it just looked out of place. Like I said, I LOVE our new one. And it pulls out to seat like 10.
Our next hurdle to tackle is a new sectional. Our poor couch has had it. I won't even give it away because its so sad. 5 years was a good run for the price we paid for it. And I'll miss it, but I seriously cannot wait to get something else in here. Something with cushion and more seating. Omar also put up our door panels FINALLY! I don't have any hatred towards those french doors anymore.

We've also been addicted to Frozen.. if you can't tell. I've got some more Valentines Day suprises planned for the kids but that will have to wait til Omar gets home from work.

Happy Valentine's Day!!
