This past weekend, we as a family went to Disneyland for Landon's 2nd birthday. I had booked a room in advance at this cute little hotel right off of Katella and Harbor, and was crossing my fingers that the pictures they had online were accurate to what it actually looked like. So we drove down to Anaheim on friday night so that we could unpack and just take it easy the first night. We drive up to the hotel and voila! It was the cutest one on the street, aside from the big name hotels like Holiday Inn and the Marriott. Anyway, I would definitely recommend it to others that are looking for a clean, spacious hotel room for a good price. Oh yah, it was called the Anaheim Islander Inn.
Once we got everything unpacked and the kids settled and changed, Omar and I decided to walk Downtown Disney and find a place for some grub. So he goes to put the stroller back in the truck and apparently he didn't see that the camera was in the little tray because as he flung it closed, the camera went flying into the parking lot and the lens shattered! I couldn't believe that before we even got to go anywhere, we had already lost our only camera. We decided that the next morning before we went into the park, we would stop by Target and just buy a new one. So until then I was forced to use my phone as a camera, which takes decent pictures, but it isn't ideal at all. By the time we get to Downtown Disney, it was fireworks time. So we found a spot in between both parks and waited. This was going to be the ultimate test to see if we could stay the next night at the park for the fireworks. So they start and as soon as they did, Landon had his face nestled into my neck. I would turn around so he could see and all he'd say was, "NO!!!" Poor guy... so I put him in the stroller and he then proceeded to cover his face with his hood. Ava in the meantime was grunting along with the fireworks, she was all for them.
The next day we made our way to Target, bought the new camera and then realized we would have to charge it for at least 4 hours in order to use it. So once again, we were left with my stupid camera phone. At least we had the video camera I thought. Once we got in the park, the kids couldn't care less where we were. I think I was more excited then they were. Our first ride of the day was Astro Blasters, that way we could get Landon's attention with his favorite, Buzz Lightyear. Before joining the 30 minute wait in line, I asked one of the cast members if Ava was able to ride and they gave me an answer that I pretty much set my day by, "if a pregnant women can ride the ride, so can she." Cool! So we all got to go on the ride along with, Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Carribbean (Ava actually cried on the ride because she got wet, lol), got to see the Jedi show, went on Pinocchio, took Landon on the carousel twice (Omar doesn't do spinning rides), went into Toontown so we could meet Mickey aka "the mouse" as Landon calls him, watched the celebration parade that Landon danced to the entire time, ate lunch at Woody's Roundup which is a family style buffet and has the Toy Story characters there, the Dumbo ride, and then went on the Nemo Submarine. The line for that ride was insane all day long. So we waited til the fireworks show to start to get in line. Smart, I know. After everything we were somehow able to walk out of the park and make it back to our hotel. The kids were soooo tired. The next day we prepared ourselves for California Adventure. We had the new camera charged and ready to go. It was soo hot that day that our first stop was to go into the Aladdin show just to escape the heat. Bad idea. Landon wasn't in the mood to stay still... he kept kicking the seat in front of him, he hit a lady in the shins a couple times that was sitting next to us and then Ava was starting to get fussy as well. I was already done. After the show, we went into the animation studios thing, killed time away from the sun, then decided lets just hurry and go to the Toy Story mania ride and get outta here. So we walk all the way over there only to find that the waiting time for the ride was over an hour. Over an hour to stand in a line with 2 kids under 2, in the heat, with no strollers allowed? NO WAY! We ended our trip there. But not before we found a spot to get wet at by the rapids and got an ice cream for the kids. Landon also got to take his picture with Goofy and the Cars.
